Roman and local archeology
The oldest remains of the city and of the area can be found in the museum of Turin. The Savoy Family ordered for most of the collection to be transferred there towards the end of the 16th century. There are Greco-Roman sculptures, Greek and Italian vases, and an Etruscan coin collection. There is also a section on the Archaeology of the region and a section on Augusta Taurinorum, the Roman name for Turin, should be open soon.
